Whether welding seams on steel, edge grinding on stainless steel, or surface grinding on exposed concrete and natural stone – Tyrolit cup wheels are available as resin-bonded cup wheels in two quality lines: PREMIUM for the highest demands and STANDARD for solid everyday tasks. All models are designed as cup wheels for angle grinders and cover a wide range of applications in metalworking and the construction industry.
Tyrolit cup wheels are available in two lines. PREMIUM stands for the highest stock removal rates and above-average service life – the right choice for intensive grinding jobs where speed and tool life directly affect productivity. STANDARD delivers very good stock removal rates and very good service life at a lower entry point – ideal for less demanding applications or where cost is a priority. Important: For stainless steel, only a PREMIUM model is available, as chemical purity is an additional requirement here.
The range covers three material areas: steel, stainless steel and stone. For steel, both PREMIUM and STANDARD models are available – both are suitable for edge grinding, surface cleaning, bevelling and grinding welding seams on various steel grades. For stainless steel, only a PREMIUM resin cup wheel is available: its key feature is chemical purity, which prevents corrosion, pitting and a reduction in fatigue strength on INOX surfaces. For stone – i.e. concrete, engineered stone, terrazzo, marble, slate and granite – PREMIUM and STANDARD models are likewise available, both with silicon carbide abrasive for optimum results on short-chipping materials. In addition to cup wheels, Tyrolit also offers flap discs for surface finishing.
Tyrolit cup wheels are exclusively compatible with angle grinders with a 178 mm disc diameter. Smaller machines run too fast, larger ones too slow – both impair the grinding result and work safety. The maximum operating speed is 50 m/s. For tool mounting, bore sizes of 22 and 23 mm as well as the M14 threaded fitting are available, covering the standard mounting options of most 178 mm angle grinders. A special cup wheel guard is mandatory for safe operation.
Available diameter varies by model: PREMIUM cup wheels for steel are available in diameters from 102 to 152 mm, PREMIUM for stainless steel from 127 to 152 mm and PREMIUM for stone from 100 to 130 mm. The STANDARD line for steel and stone is available as a 110 mm version in each case. These dimensions are matched for use with 178 mm angle grinders.
The PREMIUM resin cup wheel for stainless steel stands out in particular for its chemical purity: it prevents corrosion, pitting and a reduction in fatigue strength on INOX surfaces – a decisive advantage wherever flawless stainless steel surfaces are required. The PREMIUM resin cup wheel for stone impresses with its silicon carbide abrasive, which is specially formulated for short-chipping materials and can be used for everything from exposed concrete finishing to surface grinding on granite.
