The power units supply hydraulic wall saws, wire saws and core drilling systems reliable with the necessary drive power — and, in addition, special-purpose machines such as the Wall-Shaver or profile milling machines.
Developed and manufactured at the Tyrolit Hydrostress production site in Pfäffikon (Switzerland), these drives draw on decades of experience in hydraulic drive technology for the construction industry . The result: drives that operate reliably even under the rigours of continuous use on construction sites — whether in new-build projects, controlled demolition or renovation work in building and civil engineering.
The choice depends on two factors: the required drive power and the desired level of convenience. All Tyrolit hydraulic power units from the PPH series are suitable for wall saws, wire saws and core drilling systems — the choice between 25 kW (PPH25 / PPH25RR drive) and 40 kW (PPH40RR drive) depends on the size of the machine being driven and the intensity of use.
Anyone who occasionally operates different machines or requires flexibility on a construction site should choose a model from the PPH series and connect the power unit to a wall saw, wire saw or drilling gearbox as required. For special applications requiring particularly high working pressure — such as pressing with the CP110 or notching — the AU drive (up to 2,000 bar) and the BW-2 drive (up to 750 bar) are also available.
The PPH25 drive is the compact basic model: it delivers 25 kW of power with 2-stage control and covers the most important applications in wall sawing, wire sawing and drilling — without any unnecessary fuss.
The PPH25RR and PPH40RR professional models take things a step further. They feature 4-stage speed control and a wireless remote control, whose potentiometer enables a soft start that protects the wire — an important feature when working with delicate saw wires. In addition, secondary connections are fitted, and the plastic covers can be removed without tools, which greatly simplifies servicing on site. Anyone who works regularly with wire saws or has a high workload in their operations should opt for the RR version.
25 kW is sufficient for most standard applications in wall sawing and wire sawing. The PPH25 or PPH25RR drive can be used to operate common hydraulic wall saws such as the FZ-2ST and wire saws such as the SB-E or WCE18.
For larger wall saws (e.g. the FZ-4S with cutting depths of up to 1,005 mm) and intensive wire sawing in continuous operation, the 40 kW PPH40RR drive is the right choice. The 4-stage control system on this model ensures that the machine operates within the optimum performance range for every application — this protects the tool and reduces wear.
Both performance classes operate on the same principle: the speed control system adjusts the hydraulic flow rate in stages to meet the requirements of the connected machine, rather than running constantly at full load.
Tyrolit Modular System allows the same hydraulic power unit to be used flexibly for various machines and applications. Whether it’s a wall saw, wire saw, drilling gearbox or specialised machine — the power unit is simply reconnected. This significantly reduces investment costs: drilling and sawing contractors do not need to have a separate drive unit for every machine.
