Tyrolit ring saws and hand saws for precise cuts in concrete, reinforced concrete and masonry – ideal for creating openings and cut-outs in walls and ceilings.
For concrete drilling and sawing companies, electric ring saws and hand saws are an indispensable part of the basic equipment. Where openings, cut-outs and recesses need to be created in concrete walls and ceilings, machines are required that work precisely, quickly and gently on the material. As a premium manufacturer of diamond tools and machinery for the construction industry, Tyrolit offers electrically powered ring saws and hand saws that are designed to meet precisely these requirements. The range is aimed at professional drilling and sawing contractors, as well as construction and civil engineering professionals, who work with concrete, reinforced concrete and masonry on a daily basis and rely on high-quality machinery and system compatibility.
Circular saws and hand saws are used for different tasks — the choice depends on the required cutting depth and the type of cut. Tyrolit HRE410 ring saw is designed for wall and floor cuts and achieves cutting depths of up to 300 mm. It uses a ring-shaped saw blade that enables cuts without over-cutting at the corners — where conventional circular saws would inevitably cut beyond the desired cutting line. The HBE400 electric hand saw is the more compact version: lighter, optimised for mobile use and, with cutting depths of up to 150 mm, ideal for flush cuts — that is, cuts flush with an adjacent surface. Both machine types are suitable for wet and dry applications and are therefore suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
The primary materials used are concrete and reinforced concrete — both machine types are specifically designed for cutting these materials, including reinforced structures containing reinforcing bars. The HBE400 hand saw is also suitable for masonry. The following applies to all the materials mentioned: the correct diamond saw blade is essential for optimum cutting performance and service life. Tyrolit recommends suitable ring saw blades and hand saw blades from its own range, which are tailored to the machine specifications of the HRE410 and HBE400.
The achievable cutting depth is the key selection criterion. The Tyrolit HRE410 ring saw cuts through walls and floors to a depth of up to 300 mm — meaning it can also handle thicker concrete structures and reinforced concrete walls. The Tyrolit HBE400 hand-held saw achieves cutting depths of up to 150 mm, which is sufficient for many openings in interior walls and lightweight concrete structures, whilst remaining easy to handle manually thanks to the machine’s low weight of 9.1 kg. Both machine types use saw blades with a maximum diameter of around 405–410 mm.
Where a wall opening is to end exactly flush with the surface, the question arises as to the most cost-effective method. The traditional alternative to a ring saw is corner drilling: this involves drilling the four corners of a planned opening with a core drilling machine drilled out before the wall saw machines the rest of the contour. Whilst this is technically reliable, it is time-consuming and requires significant machine resources. The Tyrolit HRE410 ring saw was specifically developed to replace this step: thanks to its ring-shaped saw blade, it cuts complete contours without any overcuts — no additional corner drilling is required, and no reworking is needed. Compared with diamond chain saws, the HRE410 offers a faster workflow with lower maintenance requirements.
The HRE410 is the most powerful model in the range: a 6.5 kW P2® high-frequency motor, water cooling, IP55 protection rating and a modular connection concept that allows direct operation via the WSE1621 wall saw control unit or the separate PPE6 electronic control unit. The rear handle rotates through 90° to allow the user to adopt a comfortable posture when making horizontal cuts. The HBE400 stands out for its compact design: weighing 9.1 kg, with a 230 V connection, removable guide rollers for easy machine handling and an integrated vacuum cleaner connection for clean working, even indoors.
Tyrolit develops and manufactures both the machines and the corresponding diamond saw blades in-house — this is by no means a given in the market. The result is a coordinated system in which machine parameters and tool design are considered together right from the start. The P2® technology in the HRE410’s motor is an in-house high-frequency development designed to deliver maximum cutting performance whilst ensuring a long service life. With over 100 years’ experience in diamond technology and a presence in more than 140 countries, this is backed by a service network that provides spare parts, maintenance and provides application advice worldwide.
