General information

We are aware that the protection of your privacy is important to you. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and compliance with the statutory provisions on data protection is a matter of course for us. In the following, we would like to briefly explain how we collect, manage and use information about individuals.

Please also note that TYCOM may amend, supplement, expand, remove or otherwise update this data protection policy from time to time in the event of changes to our services and in consideration of changes in the law. However, your personal data will always be handled in accordance with the version of the Privacy Policy in force at the time the data was collected. We will publish changes to our privacy policy here so that you are fully informed in accordance with Article 13/14 GDPR about the types of personal data we collect, how this personal data is processed and under what circumstances it may be transferred. Our data protection principles can be accessed from all individual pages of our website. At the points where personal data is collected, you will find additional information on the purpose of use of this data and, if necessary, an opportunity to declare your consent.

Collection of personal data

We do not collect any personal data (e.g. names, addresses, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses) unless you voluntarily provide us with such data (e.g. by registration, survey, contact form) or - if legally required - have given your consent or the relevant legal provisions on the protection of your data permit this.

Legal basis

The legal basis for our processing of your personal data is the
contractual relationship, including pre- and post-contractual obligations. Data processing only takes place with your consent or contractual basis and/or necessity of contract fulfilment for the purposes agreed with you or if there is another legal basis in accordance with the GDPR.

Our business licence "Services in automatic data processing and information technology" is the legal basis for carrying out the company's business purpose. Other legal obligations, such as statutory reporting obligations, are the legal basis for data processing. We therefore process personal data if this is required by law or contract or if consent has been given. With regard to general advertising activities, we have a legitimate interest in contacting and intensifying contact with existing and potential customers.

Guarantee of privacy and personal data protection

TYCOM complies with the legal provisions on data protection, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In general, we only process personal data in accordance with these data protection principles. The following section explains how and when TYCOM collects personal data. In addition, we may be obliged to process further data within the framework of the law to support judicial or official investigations.

Intended use of personal data

Most of the Internet services provided by TYCOM can be visited without personal registration and disclosure of identity. For certain services, we ask you for your name, a user name and possibly other personal information. You are free to decide whether to provide this information. Without this information, however, TYCOM will not be able to provide you with the requested service and will not be able to answer some of your enquiries.

TYCOM only retains personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes described and in accordance with the statutory provisions. If you contact us using the form on the website or by e-mail, the data you provide will be stored by us for six months for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions, unless a business relationship is established anyway.

If you no longer wish to receive information, please let us know.

Confidentiality of personal data

TYCOM will not pass on your personal data to third parties except in the cases mentioned in this data protection policy. Personal data may be disclosed to other TYROLIT companies in Switzerland and abroad within the framework of the law, which undertake to treat the personal data in accordance with these data protection principles and to process it in accordance with the purpose for which it was originally recorded, for example the provision of services, marketing, data processing or technical support.

Your personal data may also be disclosed to a third party if a business location or parts thereof with the associated customer data are sold, transferred or assigned. Where necessary and reasonable, you will consent to this. In such a case, we would contractually require the buyer or the acquiring party to treat the personal data in accordance with these data protection principles. Personal data may also be disclosed to a third party if we are obliged to do so by law, a court order or a government regulation within the framework of the law, or if the disclosure of the data is necessary in connection with a judicial or police investigation at home or abroad and is permitted under national law.

Right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, cancellation, objection.

TYCOM endeavours to ensure that the personal data recorded is always correct, up-to-date and reliable with regard to its intended use. We give you the opportunity to object to the processing of your personal data, insofar as the law allows you to do so. This applies in particular to marketing measures (right to object to advertising), unless these require your consent (opt-in) anyway. Please inform us if you wish to object to your data being used for advertising purposes. This also applies if you have any questions about the use of your personal data. In such a case, please state the name of the website on which you entered your personal data, identify yourself and let us know which specific information you would like to have corrected, updated or deleted. Requests for deletion of personal data will be carried out in compliance with all applicable legal and archiving and record keeping requirements.

You can find out how to contact us at the bottom of this page. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection claims have been violated, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. As TYCOM is a group company headquartered in Austria, you can do this with the Austrian or the competent national data protection authority in your country. Here you will find a list of all data protection authorities in the EU.

To ensure the security and confidentiality of the personal data recorded by TYCOM, TYCOM takes appropriate measures to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

If you wish to send us personal data electronically by entering it on our website, your data will be transmitted to our web server via a state-of-the-art secure connection (SSL) in encrypted form over the Internet, stored and secured. Please note that the transmission of data by e-mail, on the other hand, is generally not encrypted.
