Features
Silicon Carbide grain for Specific Material Needs—Best for hard, brittle, or non-ferrous materials like ceramics, cast iron, and carbide. Delivers fast, sharp cuts but breaks down faster.
Non-Reinforced Resin Bond Structure—Engineered for rigid, guarded environments where precision and safety are critical. The non-reinforced design allows controlled breakage under overload without resisting lateral forces, making it ideal for clamped, fixed-base cut-off.
Large Diameter Availability (10"–20")—Supports deep cutting requirements on large or thick stock. Suitable for both high-precision lab setups and heavy-duty chop saws with fixtured workpieces.
Description
When performance matters and safety is critical, choose a cut-off wheel designed for the job. Our non-reinforced Type 41 resin-bonded wheels, available in 10"–20" diameters, are engineered with premium silicon carbide grains to deliver fast, cool cuts and extended life in demanding industrial environments. The non-reinforced structure is ideal for fixed-base machines and clamped workpieces where lateral forces are controlled and well-guarded. These wheels provide precision sectioning with minimal burr, heat, or metallurgical damage, making them the go-to choice for high-volume cutting operations in foundries, metalworking shops, tool rooms, and testing labs. The friable sharpness of silicon carbide allows these wheels to cut clean and stay sharp.
Application
Application
1
Sectioning high-nickel or stainless alloys in metallurgical labs or QA environments
2
Precision cut-off of titanium or exotic aerospace alloys in production chop setups
3
Cutting ceramic-coated rods or hardened steel shafts
Recommendations
Use only on fixed-base machines with fully clamped and supported workpieces – Non-reinforced wheels are not designed for handheld or unstable setups.
Ensure proper guarding is in place at all times – Designed for well-guarded environments where wheel breakage risks are fully contained.
Use SiC for non-ferrous and hard/brittle materials.
Apply steady, even feed pressure – Let the wheel do the work. If pressure is too light parts may burn, however excessive force may cause glazing or premature wear.
Follow proper storage guidelines – Store wheels flat in a dry, stable environment to prevent bond degradation or warping.
