Features
Fiberglass Reinforcement—High-strength fiberglass mesh provide added structural integrity, reducing the risk of wheel failure under side load or high RPM conditions.
Premium Silicon Carbide Grain—Extremely sharp grain for crisp, fast cutting.
Non-Loading Resin Bond—Keeps wheel cutting freely without clogging.
Type 41 Flat Design—Maximizes contact area for precise, straight cuts in controlled, guarded applications with clamped workpieces.
Description
Our reinforced Type 41 resin-bonded silicon carbide cut-off wheels (8"–20") deliver fast, cool cutting action for non-ferrous metals, gray iron, and other hard or brittle materials. The sharp, friable silicon carbide grain cuts cleanly without loading, minimizing burr formation and reducing finishing work.
Fiberglass reinforcement enhances safety, while the resin bond is designed for smooth cutting and reduced vibration, making them ideal for chop saws and fixed-base machines handling non-ferrous and specialty materials.
Application
Application
1
Cutting aluminum and brass extrusion stock
2
Sectioning cast iron pump housings
3
Cutting blanks from tungsten carbide
Recommendations
Always use proper guarding – Reinforcement adds strength, but safety standards (ANSI/OSHA) require full guarding for cut-off operations.
Clamp non-ferrous workpieces securely – Prevents movement that could causechatter, uneven cuts, or safety hazards.
Match wheel size and speed rating to the machine – Never exceed the maximum RPM indicated on the wheel.
Use light, controlled feed pressure to prevent material smearing.
Store wheels in a dry, protected environment.
