The product line SKYTEC
from TYROLIT has been especially developed for grinding inserts made of
cemented carbide or cermets and for tools made of PCD or PCBN.
High
process safety, increase of wheel life, shorter cycle times and better
workpiece quality are archieved with this line. Through the use of
various bond systems, such as resin, vitrified, metal and our patented
interpenetrating network all requirements can be achieved when
producing these workpieces.
To offer you the most suitable grinding wheel the range is divided into two main lines: SKYTEC-CC-Basic and SKYTEC-PCD-Basic.
SKYTEC-CC-Basic covers all grinding wheels which are used for grinding inserts made of cemented carbide or cermets.
New manufacturing technologies require increasing quality standards for inserts.
As
with PCD or PCBN grinding, the grinding of inserts made of
cemented carbide or cermets also demands exact geometry, high surface
quality and minimum chipping.
Big manufacturing batches call for short cycle times and long truing intervals.
Also for these requirements the TYROLIT SKYTEC-CC-Basic is the optimum choice of grinding wheel system, combined in one product line for peripheral grinding and surface grinding.
SKYTEC-CC-BASIC
SKYTEC-PCD-Basic covers all grinding wheels which are used for grinding tools made of PCD or PCBN.
TYROLIT
has developed grinding wheels for the economic production of
high-quality cutting edges. These provide the required cutting edge
quality with high stock removal rates, wheel life and are easy to dress.
Not
only the choice of the specification also the trueing and dressing are
important influential factors which are sometimes underrated.
Trueing, which is usually done with vitrified SiC wheels, produces the geometry and flatness of the grinding wheel faces.
Afterwards, dressing with a vitrified aluminium oxide dressing stick is necessary to expose the diamond grit.
