1895

Daniel Swarovski establishes a factory for the production of crystal stones for jewellery in the town of Wattens in Tyrol
1919

TYROLIT company is founded to manufacture grinding tools for crystal production

1950

The company relocates from Wattens to Schwaz/Tyrol. A 150 strong workforce produce 400 tonnes of grinding tools per year

1952

Market launch of the first SECUR® cut off and depressed centre wheels with glass fibre reinforcement.

1967

Production starts of the first diamond tools for precision machining

1970

The first diamond circular saw blades are produced for the construction industry

1977

A new plant is opened for the manufacture of diamond and CBN grinding tools

1981

Installation of a scanning electron microscope with the largest test chamber in Europe

1984

Start of mass production of laserwelded diamond tools for the construction industry

1990

Launch of the diamond wire saw

1991

Investment in US company Diamond Products and Swiss company Hydrostress

1992

A new plant is opened in Stans/Tyrol for high-precision diamond and CBN grinding tools

1993

Construction of a new warehouse and dispatch centre. Logistics are streamlined using a computer-controlled high bay warehouse with 7,000 pallet positions

1996

Building and commissioning of the Brazilian production plant for precision, CBN and diamond abrasives

1998

Modernisation of conventional vitrified bonded grinding tool production in Schwaz

2003
TYROLIT subsidiary TYROLIT Thai Diamond opens in Rayong Province, Thailand
2006

Expansion of the sales network with the TYROLIT Asia Pacific Thailand and TYROLIT Central Eastern Europe sales companies

2007

Relocation and expansion of TYROLIT Reineke to Neuenrade, Germany

2008

The new stone, marble, granite, natural stone and glass plant is opened in Suzhou

2009 TYROLIT acquires American abrasives manufacturer Radiac Abrasives Inc.
